How do I boost the water pressure from my well?
Boosting the water pressure from your well may seem like an impossibility, however, based on your needs and your well’s available water production, you can purchase a well water booster system capable of doing just that – boosting the well water pressure in your home.

Some professionals may suggest you drill a new well, increase the size or number of pressure tanks for more water storage, or increase the size of your well pump. However, very rarely will they discuss the fact that these actions do not guarantee increased water pressure from your well. In some cases, the solutions cited can even cause unforeseen problems, leaving you with a huge bill while still searching for a solution to boost your well water pressure.

A Well Manager expert will calculate the size of your system and review a customized solution for boosting the water pressure from your well with you. With our Well Manager solution, you can be confident your well will be protected from over pumping, and you will have the tools to manage your water collection and pressurization! Call a Well Manager expert today for an affordable solution to boost the water pressure from your well.

How Does ConstaBoost™ Work?
In cases where flow pressure from a well is not adequate, a ConstaBoost Static Storage System can provide consistent pressure at intermittent flow rates many times higher than is currently possible without over pumping and damaging the well.

How a ConstaBoost system works

ConstaBoost on a Single Well
With this single well system, your existing well pressure tank remains as is. The waterline from the well tank to the house is plumbed into the ConstaBoost inlet, and the outlet is connected to your house plumbing through a Constant Pressure Module.

The new, atmospheric (unpressurized) tank fills through a solenoid valve that is flow restricted to the well yield or less. Whenever the ConstaBoost is not full, water will enter at the set fill rate until the tank fills and the electric float turns off the solenoid valve that controls the fill line. In the case of a 2 gpm well, the fill rate for the ConstaBoost tank would be 2 gpm or less. Because the flow rate into the tank is restricted, a filter must be installed in the waterline on the tank inlet so the restriction does not collect debris and reduce the fill rate.

Well pump start frequency and pump run duration depend on the drawdown of the pressure tank you now have – or the one you select — and the delivery rate of your well pump. If you have a pressure tank, like the Well-X-Trol WX302 (26”D x 47”H), you can withdraw about 29 gallons before the well pump comes on if your pressure switch is running on a 30/50 cycle. It will take 14.5 minutes for 29 gallons to transfer from the well pressure tank to the ConstaBoost tank through a fill restricted to 2 gpm. While the ConstaBoost tank is filling, the well pump will come on every 14.5 minutes and withdraw 29 gallons from the well.

If your well pump can supply 7 gallons per minute to the pressure tank, it will run for 29÷7, or 4.14 minutes, each time it comes on.

This system includes a Constant Pressure Module so performance in the house will be exactly as it would be with a CP model Well Manager®. You will get a great shower and, if your home piping is sized by a recent plumbing code, you will be able to use two showers at the same time.

Your days of no water pressure will be a distant memory. ConstaBoost static storage tanks are available in the same sizes as Well Managers, so you can store any amount of water you want.

When using a ConstaBoost Static Storage system on a low-yield well, it is a good idea to install a low-water cut off pressure switch, a PumpTec, or some kind of motor protection for the well pump. A Well Manager does not need this type of device. The ConstaBoost does have a low water cut off in its tank to protect the pressure pump if the tank is pumped too low.

The ConstaBoost Static Storage System is not as sophisticated as a Well Manager, but it is attractively priced and will provide amazing plumbing performance. It will allow you to do things you cannot do now, and it comes with the same material warranties as a Well Manager®.

ConstaBoost on a Well Share
A well share can become a problem, particularly when well yield is barely or less than adequate. A running toilet, stuck stock tank fill, or loss of control at any outlet can result in an empty well and everyone left without water.

If each home on the well share has a ConstaBoost (Booster Pump System) with the fill rate restricted to their share of the water, no one can empty the well. If a toilet runs at one house, that one tank could be pumped empty, but the well will not be affected. Other users will still have water, and there will be water to refill the empty tank once the problem is fixed. The built-in water meter reveals abusers.

If others on the well share are not interested in a ConstaBoost, a single user can install one. The well can still be emptied by someone else’s negligence, but the family with the ConstaBoost will still have water long after everyone else has run out.

Community Well Systems
Community well systems may have many homes connected. Any well can be affected by drought or competition from other wells, so well yield can change. In addition, the peak demand need of the system can change depending on the number and age of people who live in the community and by changing times, causing the well to have low pressure.

If well yield has been affected by increased development in the area or by drought, the well may be over pumped frequently. Over pumping can strain the well pump and damage the well, further diminishing its yield.

When a ConstaBoost System with restricted fill is installed in one of the homes on a Community Well System, strain on the system is reduced and system storage increases. If a 210-gallon ConstaBoost were installed in each of 15 houses on such a system, the result would add 3,150 gallons of distributed storage and 150 gallons per minute or more of peak demand delivery capacity. In this way, it is possible to convert a Community Well System that cannot now meet peak demand flow requirements into one that can, even with the addition of several more homes!

Save Money On Treatment Equipment Or Regain Performance Lost To Undersized Equipment
Often plumbing performance is seriously degraded when water treatment equipment is installed by a plumber. Sometimes it is because the equipment was not sized for the proper flow rate, and sometimes it is because the treatment cannot be done at high flow rates. A ConstaBoost (Booster Pump System) will restore plumbing performance when incoming flow rates are inadequate for any reason.

Whether you find yourself with no water or with unreliable, low pressure, don’t turn to a well driller or plumber. Well Manager has the solutions you need.

Well Manager Reviews

"The main difference with the Well Manager is water pressure. We get more pressure with longer use of water from many outlets."

Joe B. Stevens
Sourland Mountains, New Jersey

Background: A large home under ten years old. Wells in the neighborhood were suffering.

"Before Well Manager, we couldn't run the dishwasher and the washer at the same time! Now, we can wash clothes, run the dishwasher and have plenty of water! We even installed a sprinkler system for our lawn. This has been possible only with the Well Manager."

John E. Warren
Northern New Jersey

Background: Tom lives in an area notorious for poor wells. The neighbors run out of water if they are not careful.

"Under heavy demand, the well would run dry. The recharge rate is 1/2gpm. The Well Manager provides all the water that we need daily and always has lots of extra water on hand. our tanks are usually always full."

Thomas Thompson
Binghamton, New York
