There are two types of Municipal or Community water supply systems. Those that are open to the atmosphere, storing water in water towers. The height of the tower provides pressure for the system. Systems that are closed. These may store water in tanks but pressure is furnished by pumps. If you do not know which type you have, call the water authority and ask.
